What began as friendly banter between friends, turned into the world's largest food fight and Spain's most famous festival. And what a party it turned out to be.

Nowadays, on the last Wednesday of August every year, the town of Buñol plays host to La Tomatina, with over 30,000 people flinging 275,000 tons of tomatoes...

European Formula 1 Grand Prix
August 22nd - 24th 2008

For the first time in history the city of Valencia is played host the European Formula 1 Grand Prix.

This much anticipated race took place on a street circuit designed by the famous designer Hermann Tilke. At 5.4km the track followed along the city's impressive harbor brining all the excitement of Monaco to Valencia.

2008 Expo World’s Fair
June 14-Sep 14 2008

Expo Zaragoza 2008 brings more than 100 countries together at the world's largest international fair and expo. Open for 3 months, June through September, this years fair is themed around water and sustainable development.

In keeping with the program, the city commissioned a team of the best architects and designers to beautify the city with gardens, pools and empowering structures. It certainly worked!

Funchal Celebrates 500 years!

In celebration of Funchals 500th anniversary  the island is going all out, offering a host of exciting events, celebrations and activities throughout the year.

Anniversary events include live music, film, food & wine festivals,  tennis championships and the official jet ski grand prix. However the highlight of the year long celebration comes in the form of the Funchal 500 Tall Ship Regatta beginning in September.
